Workshops

Photography with STS Pavilion ToursPhotographic workshops are a series of adventurous field trips, providing an excellent opportunity to photograph the architecture and form of local cities and to explore the stunning landscapes surrounding resorts. Workshops aim to help students fully understand the potential of their own cameras and how to get the best results. Students can improve composition and their work in resort can contribute to an exciting portfolio on the return to the UK. Tutors will encourage students to work together, and to develop their individual photographic style.
Working with a contemporary filmmaker, students will storyboard and make a short video film throughout the week, looking at all the stages of filmmaking with guided editing and viewing in resort. Students can perform in their own film, or collaborate with a drama or dance department, creating a great opportunity for links between departments. Films can be inspired by famous film sequences from cities visited on the trip, or from the resort itself.
Workshops can be accompanied by a series of video evenings, showing films from that particular country, helping to expand student's knowledge of European Cinema. Additionally, students can also view a particular genre of film, and explore that style in their own filmmaking. A visit to a film museum is the perfect accompaniment to the trip, helping students to expand their knowledge of the history of filmmaking.
