The trips can provide a unique perspective for a deeper
understanding of the cultural context of theatrical
techniques, practitioners and theatrical history. Studying
Greek Theatre, you can visit Epidavros to look at how &
why staging techniques emerged; study Commedia dell’
Arte and visit Venice to see where carnival & commedia
developed; visit the Berliner Ensemble where Brecht
explored his theatre; visit the Dali Museum in Figueres,
Spain and explore surrealism, using artworks as
devising inspiration; look at the political history of
Prague and explore how and why visual theatre
developed. Our practitioners are excellent at
modernising theatrical techniques, making them
exciting, accessible, fun and relevant to young people.
Tutors can also introduce your students to new forms
of performance, and give an excellent opportunity to
use cultural research as inspiration for devising
techniques. Many groups make site specific works on
resort and return with new inspiration, ideas and
techniques to be developed in the UK. Each group is
catered for individually, allowing you to choose your
own educational package which fits you & your
students needs.
