Art school trips

Art

On STS Pavilion Art trips students have the opportunity to work with practicing professional
artists working in the contemporary creative and cultural industry. Art workshops will improve
skill and stimulate imaginative ways of working, accompanied by visits to some of Europe’s
finest artworks.
From Dalí’s paintings and Gaudí’s architecture in Spain; Impressionists at the Musée D’Orsay in
Paris; Mask Making and Carnival design in Venice to the beautiful landscapes and Classical Art
in Greece and the wonderful Art Nouveau architecture and Mucha’s design in Prague, the trips
offer numerous opportunities to explore the work of artists from different cultures. The local visits
help students to understand the contexts in which the artworks have been made.
By making artworks on-site and visiting the works of great artists, pupils can reflect critically on
both their own and other people’s work, judging quality, value and meaning. Thus gaining a deeper
understanding of the cultural background of specific artists and movements.
