Alpine Venture in the French Alps
Famous for hosting many prestigious winter sports championships and filled with opportunities for many adventures while surrounded by inspiring, scenic vistas; the French Alps offer the ideal opportunity for school groups looking to experience exhilarating and stimulating activities.
Staff and students can relax with full board in this professionally staffed resort that includes a resort manager as well as fully qualified instructors. A choice of hotel accommodation is on offer in this mountain based location within close proximity of all the activities where robust operating procedures and full risk assessments are used to assure the safety for every adventure sports enthusiast.
Free-time is taken care of, with a selection of shops and boutiques in many resorts such as the major ski resort of Serre Chevalier; and with plenty of entertainment opportunities across the French Alps including a variety of festivals and a wide choice of cultural excursions also on offer. Evening entertainment is on hand at the disco, ice-skating rink, and quiz night near to the resort. Or for a free afternoon away from the adventure base, we suggest a coach trip to the highest road in the Alps to discover some the most amazing views of your visit.
The multitude of activities means there is suitable pursuits for any weather, making the French Alps a year-round destination. However, we suggest visiting in May Half Term when the weather is warm and there is a larger choice of things to do, including mountain biking on the clear footpaths near the resort surrounded by the beautiful Alpine flora and fauna. For a quieter stay with milder weather, October Half Term is also recommended.
Wider curriculum links: Offering excellent adventure facilities, alongside sophisticated French culture in this scenic mountainous location, the French Alps communicates a natural link between Outdoor Pursuits and other curriculum areas, including History, Geography, Physical Education and Geology.
