Football in Prague
Historic, energetic and beautiful, Prague offers the ideal opportunity for students to stimulate their passion for sports outside the UK and beyond the school grounds.
Compact with awe-inspiring architecture and monuments reflecting its rich, influential history dating back to the middle ages and reflected in the city's awe-inspiring architecture, Prague offers the perfect backdrop for school groups as they ignite their passion for football outside the UK and beyond the school grounds.
The capital of Czech Republic since the end of World War I, Prague occupies a metropolitan location situated on both sides of the Vltava River within easy reach of all training fixtures and pitches. With its temperate oceanic climate summer runs from around April to September. We recommend visiting the city in May and Easter Half Terms when the weather is warmer as there is a larger choice of teams to play during the summer. For a quieter stay with milder weather, both October and February Half Terms are also recommended.
Staff and students can relax with full board in this central accommodation where all of Prague's attractions are either a walk away or nearby, using the highly efficient public transport available. An extremely popular sport in Czech Republic, football fans will appreciate the close proximity to Sparta Prague's Stadium and Strahov Stadium, the second largest stadium in the world.
Free-time is taken care of with a diverse selection of shopping areas including Fashion Arena Outlet Centre filled with bargains; or more centrally, Centrum Chodov shopping centre. Near the centralised accommodation a wide choice of sports, top stadiums and cultural excursions are also on offer.
Wider curriculum links: Offering superb sports facilities alongside the enriched Prague culture, history and architecture spanning several eras, Prague communicates a natural link between sports and other curriculum areas, including History, Art and Geography.

An exceptionally popular sport and home of the country's largest local team, Sparta Prague, this city provides a fantastic arena where players can develop their game and share their passion for football with likeminded locals.
Our official referees and coaches demonstrate enviable skill and professionalism, offering 90 minute training sessions which aim to generate positive learning outcomes through challenging players' decision making skills and enhancing their performance.
Teachers can choose between training the students themselves and using a professional coach, if they prefer. All games are managed by official referees and non-playing school teams are always encouraged to actively support playing teams.
Students will enrich their learning and experiences further by playing fixtures with local Czech sides, allowing them to build confidence in their cultural understanding, communication skills and sporting abilities.
